Religious Education at Whitley Chapel School follows the recommendations of the RE in Church of England Schools Statement of Entitlement published below. It is mainly Christian in content, using the resources from Understanding Christianity, and is supported by the recommended Newcastle Diocesan syllabus. Within this syllabus pupils will also have the opportunity to study the other World religions of Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism, and these are also explored with Christianity in some cross religion themes such as Places of Worship, or Festivals of Light. The themes are included in the 2 year Topic Cycle so that coverage of the whole curriculum in ensured.
