We all had a lovely day at Forest School. We began by reading ‘The Squirrels Who Squabbled’, discussing the need for wildlife to gather and store food in the autumn in preparation for winter. We also discussed positive and negative behaviours and thought the two squirrels in the story should not squabble over food, but should work as a team like we do! We then played the squirrel memory game where we hid our nuts for the winter, then came back and to the fire circle and enjoyed hot chocolate, marshmallows and cake! We then had the challenge of remembering where we had hidden our nuts, with most of us successfully finding them, with only one or two not being returned… We thought Mr Nibbles and his friends would enjoy them later or alternatively they might grow into a new tree! Later we read ‘Room on the Broom’ and made our own woodland wands and magic potions! We also enjoyed a Halloween scavenger hunt! A lovely autumnal day of adventures - well done everyone!
